02.26.2025 Wednesday 128 Blog "Stay Winnie"
The response to my first 128 Podcast has been life affirming for me. I was surprised by the emotional support dog who joined me on site as soon as the recording button was hit. But I was so happy to find "Winnie" next to me there, it is true that animals cause a calming effect, and I was so grateful. When I told the owner about "Winnie's" sentry like stance next me, their response was "I bet "Winnie" had a lot to say." "Winnie" did not have to say a word to say. All "Winnie" had to do was just stand there and it made me think that by just being there for me, was enough to give me the strength to begin my telling my truth. I hope and pray that by telling my story, my truth will help others find the strength to live and tell their story. So, after the podcast I spent the day gathering resources and information for individuals who need help to leave the domestic violence situation they are in or help for abusers who want to stop. While I was busy collecting information the process brought up my own trauma thus beginning my mini journey toward self-help. This Wednesday, my path led to me a bible study. I had never been to this particular church's bible study, and I came in during the 4th or 5th week, I think. I walked into the Survey of the Old Testament. As a former history teacher, all 25 spent in the classroom (well Covid did bring about the virtual classroom for all you detailed oriented peeps), I could not wait to learn and was looking for some comfort & even understanding after Tuesday's event of recording my first 128 Podcast. I needed confirmation that what I am doing with Tiffany's JAG Initiative and 128 Podcast & 128 Blog is right, just plain right. I did receive that confirmation, thanks Shelby for reminding me that Moses was really a foster child and needed protection. I am God's foster child and was in need of protection too. Who would have thought the book of Leviticus with all its laws, offerings, descriptions of everything from how to handle animal fat to childbirth, along with the soul inhaling power of the Ark of the Covenant would bring this old gal a peaceful night of rest. However, whenever or where-ever you find some peace, grab onto it, and stay with it, just like "Winnie" stayed with me.
